IEC implemented an ESG landscaping project in Almaty within the framework of the “Taza Kazakhstan” program

At the International Educational Corporation (KazGASA), sustainable development and ESG principles are an important part of the university’s educational, scientific, and social activities. One of the notable examples of implementing ESG principles was an environmental initiative held within the framework of the “Taza Kazakhstan” program and dedicated to the 45th anniversary of KazGASA.

On June 1, 2026, students and faculty members of the School of Engineering of IEC (KazGASA), together with partners – KSU “Zhasyl Almaty,” ESG Alliance, and Shokan Ualikhanov School – participated in a tree-planting campaign in the Pine Forest area of Almaty.

The special value of the project lies in its long-term and practice-oriented ESG approach. Back in November 2025, students of the School of Engineering planted the first tree seedlings as part of an environmental initiative and independently cared for them over several months, monitoring their growth and development. Today, the strengthened saplings have found their permanent place in the alley dedicated to the 45th anniversary of KazGASA.

As part of the campaign, Sogdian ash and elm trees (karagach) were planted. The project is implemented in accordance with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the principles of the UN Global Compact, combining environmental responsibility, education, social partnership, and practical youth engagement in sustainable development issues.

The implementation of such initiatives confirms IEC (KazGASA)’s commitment to ESG principles, the development of environmental culture, and the promotion of responsible attitudes toward the environment among future specialists.

IEC (KazGASA) expresses gratitude to students, faculty members, and partners for their contribution to environmental initiatives and the creation of a sustainable and green future for Almaty.
