II Forum of Rectors of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan Held in Almaty:IEC Expands International Cooperation

On April 6, 2026, key events of the II Forum of Rectors of Higher Education Institutions of Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan were held in Almaty at the Innotech powered by Arizona State University campus. The forum was aimed at strengthening academic cooperation between the two countries.

As part of the forum, a bilateral meeting took place between Sayasat Nurbek, Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Emin Amrullayev, Minister of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, with the participation of university leaders and representatives of профильные institutions. The parties discussed the expansion of academic mobility, implementation of joint educational programs, and strengthening inter-university cooperation.

A key outcome for the International Educational Corporation (KazGASA) was the signing of an international document aimed at developing joint educational programs.

Within the framework of the forum, a Protocol on the implementation of an international double degree master’s program was signed between the International Educational Corporation (KazGASA) and the Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction (AzUAC).

The agreement предусматривает joint training of master’s students in the field of construction materials engineering and includes:
– Industrial Engineering program (AzUAC);
– Construction Materials Engineering program (IEC).

The implementation of the double degree program opens new opportunities for KazGASA students, including access to international education, expanded academic mobility, and advanced educational and research practices.
