At the initiative of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, the year 2026 has been declared the International Year of Volunteers. A corresponding resolution proclaiming 2026 as the International Year of Volunteers for Sustainable Development was adopted by the General Assembly of the United Nations at the initiative of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
As part of the national opening of the International Year of Volunteers, a Volunteer Forum was held on January 30, 2026, in the city of Astana, with the participation of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The event brought together representatives of government bodies, public organizations, volunteer movements, and educational institutions of the country.
From the city of Almaty, two students were selected among 35 higher education institutions to participate in the forum. One of the participants was a student of the School of Construction of the International Education Corporation (KazGASA), studying in the TPGS 23-4 program and serving as the Chairman of the Student Government, Kuanysh Tamerlan Nsangaliuly.
The participation of KazGASA students in events of national and international significance confirms their active civic engagement, involvement in the development of the volunteer movement, and contribution to promoting the values of sustainable development and social responsibility.
