The military training of citizens for military service under the reserve officer and sergeant programs is carried out in military occupational specialties based on their higher professional education. The objective is to form a trained military reserve for the Republic of Kazakhstan and to provide additional staffing for entry-level officer and sergeant positions in the Armed Forces of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Military training is conducted under the state educational order and on a paid basis. Students of the International Educational Complex (IEC) who rank from the first position up to the number corresponding to the allocated places in the enrollment plan are eligible for free training at the military department.

Students enrolled in full-time studies at higher education institutions, citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the age of 24 in the year of the competition, are allowed to participate in the competition.
The competition for the selection of students for training at the military department is carried out in four stages:
Undergoing a medical examination in local military administration bodies (military commissariats)
Conducting professional psychological testing (at the military department)
Physical fitness test (at the military department)
Competitive selection carried out in accordance with the calculation of the rating score, compiled and approved by the head of the higher education institution.

from February 3 and ends 10 working days before the start of the selection committee’s work.
