On September 18, 2025, with the support of the Akimat of Almaty, the International Educational Corporation (KazGASA) hosted a round table on the topic “Sustainable Development of Almaty in the Context of Urbanism.” The event, dedicated to the issues of sustainable development of the metropolis, was organized by IEC (KazGASA) in cooperation with the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The round table brought together representatives of more than 20 higher education institutions, research institutes, and design organizations. Participants discussed not only strategic perspectives but also concrete mechanisms for implementing urban initiatives, including urban planning, digitalization, ecology, transport, and seismic safety.
During the discussions, the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan presented foresight studies and analytical materials on the state, prospects, and challenges of scientific research in Almaty, as well as the potential of IEC (KazGASA) in addressing pressing issues. Special attention was paid to the practical significance of scientific developments and their further application in the interests of the metropolis.
As a result of the round table, scholars and experts developed concrete proposals aimed at ensuring the sustainable development of Almaty and prepared scientifically grounded solutions for implementation. The event concluded with the signing of a Memorandum of Cooperation between the International Educational Corporation (KazGASA) and the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Kazakhstan under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, opening new prospects for joint projects and research.
