On February 24, 2026, the official opening of the “Zhaĭly Orta” Small Architectural Forms (SAF) Design Competition took place at the International Education Corporation (KazGASA). The initiative is being implemented as part of the events dedicated to the 45th anniversary of KazGASA and aims to develop students’ design culture and integrate academic education with real production.
The competition is organized by the School of Design of the International Education Corporation (KazGASA) in partnership with ARCHITAS, a manufacturer of architectural and designer small architectural forms.
The “Zhaĭly Orta” competition is focused on fostering architectural and design thinking and shaping a modern, comfortable urban environment. Participants are invited to develop projects of urban furniture and art objects inspired by the history and values of KazGASA. Particular attention is paid to ergonomics, structural stability, material durability, and consideration of cultural context.
The competition includes stages of registration, consultations and master classes, project development, expert evaluation, an exhibition of works, and a formal award ceremony. The best projects will be recommended for implementation, scheduled for August 2026.
The competition contributes to strengthening cooperation between the university and industry partners, developing students’ practice-oriented skills, and creating new elements of the urban environment with the participation of future architects and designers.
