On November 19, 2025, at the International Educational Corporation (KazGASA), the School of Engineering officially launched an ESG project dedicated to the 45th anniversary of KazGASA. This initiative is included in the university’s annual plan of educational, environmental, and social activities and aims to foster ecological culture among students, promote the values of sustainable development, and engage youth in socially significant projects.
As part of the initial stages, students and faculty of the IEC (KazGASA) School of Engineering began preparing and planting seedlings for the future anniversary alley, which will be planted in the urban environment in the spring. The project follows ESG principles and demonstrates the university’s commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals – SDG 4 (Quality Education), 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities), 13 (Climate Action), and 15 (Life on Land), fully aligning with KazGASA’s Development Strategy.
The project gains special significance through cooperation with the SDG Alliance – an international initiative uniting schools, universities, NGOs, companies, and activists worldwide. At the project launch event, the School of Engineering also highlighted the participation of Vadim Tsurikov, Director of Innovation at the SDG Alliance and a 2003 KazGASA graduate.
“We begin with the most important: planting the first seeds of growth so that in spring we can cultivate our own saplings and present Almaty with our anniversary alley. This is not just about planting trees – it is a step toward meaningful understanding of the Sustainable Development Goals and real action in their direction. We are future engineers, creators, and citizens who believe in a green and modern Kazakhstan,” the project participants noted.
The initiative of the School of Engineering at the International Educational Corporation (KazGASA) is destined to become the beginning of a large-scale ecological tradition and a valuable contribution to the development of a sustainable urban environment.
