From February 9 to 13, 2026, professors of the School of Architecture of the International Education Corporation (KazGASA) – Doctor of Architecture, Professor, Head of the UNESCO Chair M.B. Glaudinova and Associate Professor L.M. Aukhadiyeva – participated as members of the official delegation of the Republic of Kazakhstan in an Experience Exchange Program in Restoration organized by the International Turkic Culture Foundation.
Delegations from Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Hungary, and Kyrgyzstan took part in the program. The initiative aimed to strengthen professional cooperation, exchange practical experience in the preservation of historical and cultural heritage, and develop joint initiatives.
On February 9-10 in Ankara, participants visited the laboratories of the Middle East Technical University (METU) and Ankara Hacı Bayram Veli University, and explored the exhibition of the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations. In Istanbul, the delegation studied the experience of Istanbul University in preserving Roman ships discovered on the seabed, visited the Space Technologies Research Institute of TÜBİTAK, and held meetings with restoration architects in Istanbul.
At the conclusion of the program, each country presented its vision for further cooperation. The information presented about the activities of the UNESCO Chair and the Turkic Culture and Heritage Center of IEC (KazGASA) attracted significant interest among participants.
Regular meetings are planned to coordinate further steps and implement joint projects aimed at preserving and promoting the cultural heritage of the Turkic world.
