On October 16, 2025, a delegation from the International Educational Corporation (KazGASA) paid an official visit to the Polytechnic University of Madrid (Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, UPM, Spain) – one of the world’s leading universities, ranked 334th in the QS World University Rankings.
The delegation included Bakhytiyar Sabdenaliev, Rector of the International Educational Corporation (KazGASA); Madi Aldabergenov, Advisor on International Cooperation and Innovation; and Aliya Aldungarova, Dean of the School of Engineering.
During the visit, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between IEC (KazGASA) and UPM, aimed at developing joint research and academic collaboration with the Higher Technical School of Architecture of Madrid (ETSAM – Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Madrid) and the Higher Technical School of Civil Engineering (Escuela Técnica Superior de Ingeniería Civil).
The parties reached agreements on implementing academic mobility programs for students and faculty, conducting joint research within the Erasmus+ and Horizon international projects, and enhancing educational programs through the creation of joint double-degree master’s and PhD programs.
It was also noted that already in the current academic year, Professor Ignacio from UPM’s School of Civil Engineering will join KazGASA as a Visiting Associate Professor.
The signing of this Memorandum marks a significant milestone in strengthening international academic cooperation and advancing the scientific and educational potential of IEC (KazGASA) on the global stage.
