Guest Lecture by Asshat Omarov at KazGASA

On September 29, 2025, the International Educational Corporation (KazGASA) hosted a guest lecture by Asshat Omarov, conducted in an open discussion format with students. From the very beginning, the speaker emphasized his willingness for dialogue and suggested focusing on the pressing issues that concern young professionals.

Asshat Omarov is the Chairman of the Board and a member of the Board of Directors of BI Group, the largest developer and construction company in Kazakhstan, and a member of the Board of Trustees of KazGASA. He is a successful entrepreneur and leader who is reshaping the urban landscape of the country. During the lecture, he shared insights about new projects by BI Group, trends in development, and his own journey in business.

In his speech, Asshat Omarov emphasized that in the rapidly changing technological landscape and market, proactivity, a focus on professional development, and results orientation are highly valued. According to him, successful professionals are distinguished by their ability to “do 1% more than expected.”

One example he gave was a question sometimes asked in interviews at BI Group: “Are you willing to work for free?” Asshat Omarov clarified that it’s not about unpaid labor, but about testing the candidate’s motivation and internal commitment to growth, not just material gain.

The speaker also devoted special attention to urban planning issues, highlighting the importance of preserving local context and cultural identity when implementing modern infrastructure projects.

As part of his visit, Asshat Omarov also visited IEC’s (KazGASA) laboratory facilities, where he was given a tour, and the UNESCO Department, where he discussed with faculty members the significance of preserving historical and cultural heritage in the development of urban environments.
