International Educational Corporation Opens New Student Dormitory with 339 spots

On September 24, 2025, the International Educational Corporation (KazGASA) officially opened its new student dormitory in Almaty. The event took place on the campus of KazGASA, with the participation of the Akim of Almaty, Darhan Amandyldievich Satybaldy.

The new facility is part of a large-scale program aimed at developing the educational infrastructure of KazGASA, with an investment of over 20 billion tenge. The dormitory, with a capacity of 339 students, is equipped to international standards for student housing, featuring modern coworking zones for collaborative student work and is integrated into a unified campus management system with access control systems and a security center.

After the official opening, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of KazGASA, Aygazy Amirlanylych Kusaev, presented a detailed overview of the corporation’s activities to the Akim and conducted a tour of the campus laboratory facilities, showcasing key projects and scientific developments.

During the visit, the Akim of Almaty emphasized the importance of preparing local professionals for the country’s development.

“It is crucial that our graduates are competitive in the job market. We often rely on foreign experts today, but there are almost no Kazakhstani specialists. Therefore, we must cultivate our own experts, those who will be able to implement projects here, for the benefit of our city,” emphasized Darhan Satybaldy.

To support practical student training, KazGASA is equipped with state-of-the-art research platforms, including joint projects with companies such as Samsung and JBL. This allows future architects, engineers, and designers to work on world-class equipment for their coursework and thesis projects.

The campus houses a variety of specialized laboratories, including a FabLab (Fabrication Laboratory), an urban studies laboratory, a unique seismic platform for studying seismic impacts, a drone laboratory, a geotechnical engineering laboratory, and a specialized laboratory for ventilation and air conditioning named after O.Yu. Pyak.

The opening of the new student dormitory is a significant milestone in the implementation of the Academic City project, which is part of the approved general plan for Almaty. Over the next two years, the campus will expand further to include the largest educational cluster in Kazakhstan, featuring new student and faculty dormitories, coworking spaces, research laboratories, and a developed social infrastructure.
